Kensington Village

Kensington Village

Shepherd’s Care Kensington Campus is the largest of our communities with 155 continuing care spaces and a further 191 independent senior's rentals (owned and operated by Shepherd's Gardens) and 105 independently owned condominiums. A 17-acre campus in the Kensington neighbourhood in northwest Edmonton, this Campus is known for it’s friendly, Christian environment. Developed around a spacious outdoor courtyard, residents experience a wheelchair accessible park with a barbeque area, walking paths and miniature horses from spring to fall.

There are many ways to socialize and be involved through dedicated recreation and spiritual programming to resident formed social groups and clubs. We also provide intergenerational programming through our Adopt a School program, contributing to a young, vibrant atmosphere for the whole campus.

Kensington has the first of its kind Veteran’s unit, established after resident lobbied for the unit. Each Remembrance Day, we hold a Service with over 100 guests in attendance.

Close in proximity to grocery stores, shopping centres and restaurants, Kensington is easily accessible by major thoroughfares and bus routes.

In 2015, construction was completed on the new Kensington Community Christian Church for use by all Campus residents and has been a welcomed addition. Pastoral care services are available to all residents. Church services and Bible studies are held throughout the week. For more information, please visit our Spiritual Life page.

Long Term Care is a great option for those who are unable to stay at home or in supportive living, because of complex or unpredictable needs and require monitored care. Care is monitored by a Registered Nurse (RN).

Kensington Campus has 69 Long Term Care units. These units are connected to all other buildings, allowing for easy access to the whole campus. We offer private and semi-private options.

Admission to long term care units is only through assessment by Alberta Health Services. Residents pay a government regulated accommodation charge, which covers room and board (three meals per day plus snacks), housekeeping, linen and bedding laundry and some building maintenance costs.

Pastoral care is available to all residents, including weekly interdenominational church services in our on-site chapel, and hymn sings.
