The Opportunity
Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Prince of Peace, Rocky View County (Calgary), Alberta

The Director of Care (DOC) leads the provision of care services to residents residing at Prince of Peace. In the role, the DOC is guided by the organization’s Strategic Directions and Mission, Vision, and Values and ensures our values are lived out at Prince of Peace. As a key member of the organization’s leadership team, the DOC supports employees at Prince of Peace to create and maintain a living environment for residents which promotes their wellness and independence.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the DOC position include:
- Leading the work activities and resources of care services to achieve overall site and organizational plans and objectives;
- Leading in the development of plans, objectives, and strategies for care services in the site which are aligned with overall organizational Strategic Directions;
- Participating in the preparation of the site’s resident care budget and monitoring and administering the approved resident care services budget;
- Leading organizational projects as assigned;
- Representing SCF and participating in organizational, site, external, and professional committees, as appropriate; and
- Planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and recommending performance measurement to achieve continuous quality improvement. Analyzing available data for planning/monitoring purposes and for a variety of external accountabilities.
Qualifications, Education, Experience
Qualifications, education, and experience for the DOC position include:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing and current membership in good standing with CRNA;
- A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible work experience at a management level in Continuing Care;
- Exceptional customer service, organizational, teamwork, and computer skills; and
- An ability to travel to Edmonton, as required.
